National Lottery retailers are being urged to get ready for extra demand with the introduction of a new Tuesday EuroMillions draw.

The first-ever Tuesday EuroMillions draw will take place on May 10 and there will be a guaranteed jackpot of £85m.

Camelot sales director Duncan Malyon said that retailers should expect an increase in National Lottery sales in the run-up to the first draw. “Players tell us that they love big EuroMillions jackpots, and we regularly see evidence of this as sales tend to peak when there’s a huge prize on offer,” he said. “On top of all of the changes, we’ll now be creating two guaranteed UK-only millionaires each week instead of one. Tuesdays will definitely be a day to remember from now on for National Lottery sales.”

Camelot has also announced changes to the EuroMillions game with two extra lucky star numbers for consumers to choose from. There will be a new lower prize tier for players who match two main numbers.

Retailer POS material and new play slips will be arriving in stores this week including window posters, ‘tax discs’, player guides and leaflets. Some independent retailers will also receive bunting, badges and t-shirts, depending on the size of store.
