Retailers Bisi and Olumayowa Osundeko have opened their second Go Local store in St Helens, Merseyside.
Formerly a Bargain Booze, the couple worked closely with Parfetts to roll out “significant store improvements” including new chiller units and increased shelving space.
The new Rainford store on Church Road has seen its stock range doubled and “much-needed” services added such as National Lottery, Payzone and parcel points.
“We are thrilled to open our second store in St Helens and continue our successful partnership with Parfetts. Their support and input have been invaluable in bringing our vision to life. The team’s dedication and hands-on approach have made this expansion a seamless experience for us,” said Bisi.
The couple’s first store in Sutton has become more than just a place to shop. It’s known as a community hub with initiatives that include regular donations to the Sexton Avenue food bank, an in-store book club to promote literacy and partnerships with local schools to provide work experience opportunities for young adults with learning disabilities.
These efforts have not only supported the community but have also fostered a loyal customer base, said Parfetts.
Guy Swindell joint managing director at Parfetts said: “Bisi and Mayo exemplify the kind of entrepreneurial spirit and community focus that Parfetts aims to support. Their success with their first store and now in Rainford is a testament to their hard work and the strength of our partnership. We look forward to continuing to support their growth and the positive impact they have on their communities.
“With the opening of their Rainford store, the Osundekos continue to demonstrate that independent retailers can thrive by combining quality service, community engagement, and strong partnerships. Their journey serves as an inspiration for aspiring entrepreneurs in the convenience retail sector.”
