A prolific shoplifter has been banned from areas of Crewe after officers secured a five-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO).

Kenneth Jackson (37, above) appeared at Crewe Magistrates’ Court earlier this month, where he was handed the order following numerous shoplifting offences.

Under the terms of the CBO, the man has been banned from a retail park in the city, as well as stores in Dunwoody Way. If Jackson fails to comply with the CBO, he will be committing a criminal offence.

Inspector Dan Welch, of Crewe Local Policing Unit, said: “We’re committed to tackling retail crime and we’re doing everything we can to support our local businesses and protect them from offenders like Jackson. I hope this CBO also serves as a reminder of our zero-tolerance approach.

“Orders such as CBOs are one of many tools that allow officers to deter thieves and prevent crime in our communities.”

Welch adds that anyone who encounters Jackson breaching any of the above restrictions is urged to contact Cheshire Police via the website or call 101 to report it.
