Prime Minister David Cameron surprised staff at East End Foods’ West Bromwich depot with an unexpected visit to the Landmark Wholesale member. The PM met the five Wouhra brothers, who run the business, to discuss their plans to build a £20m cash & carry distribution centre and hotel complex in a former HP Sauce factory.

The family believe the new development could create up to 200 jobs, and the Prime Minister indicated his willingness to assist with the plans.

Cameron’s interest in the business meant that the visit to East End Foods, which had been scheduled to last for 45 minutes, was extended by a further two hours.
