Nisa has announced record Black Friday sales on the back of a series of trade-focused deals.

Special deals on a wide range of products on Friday 27 November saw sales increase by 11% increase on the same time last year.

The deals were promoted exclusively through Nisa’s new order capture system (OCS), which has been extensively remodelled and relaunched in November.

The Black Friday activity saw almost £1m-worth of deals processed in a significant uplift to usual web deal activity.

The web deals promoted through the new OCS system are in addition to the day-to-day orders placed by members, which Nisa recently announced had broken through the two million cases per week mark.

But Saki Ghafour, who owns two Nisa stores in the North East, said sales on Black Friday weren’t as high as he expected. “People have not been spending much money over the past few weeks. We’re expecting a sales uplift in the week leading up to Christmas though,” he added.
