To give disposable vapes a “proper send-off” as part of the ban that comes in on 1 June, Mamun Chowdhury, owner of Cloud City Vapes in Whitechapel, east London, is opening his doors for the UK’s only countdown party, in partnership with quit smoking campaigners, Riot Activist.
BÏ Disposables is being touted as London’s best Ibiza club night to celebrate the end of disposable vapes, with “an official countdown, and loads of noise.”
Riot Activist spokesperson, David Donaghy, said: “A countdown party is a very British thing to do, and the disposable vapes ban is a national moment up there with the pub smoking ban. While the devices have helped adult smokers quit they’re wasteful and bad for the environment and we’ve always supported the ban.
“We wanted to help the nation say good riddance to disposables for good. Vapers can join us at Cloud City Vapes for the countdown before midnight with help from star Kurupt FM DJ Danny Rankin on the decks. It’s going to be an epic night.”
Mamun, who has owned Cloud City Vapes for seven years, added: “Riot Activist got in touch to see if we’d host the countdown bash. While disposables have been hugely popular with customers over the years, we believe it’s time to wave goodbye.”
DJ Danny Rankin added: “Disposable vapes have been the must-have accessory for ravers at festivals and club nights for several years, so it’s apt we’re waving goodbye to them with an Ibiza inspired club night.”
