Sales are up and displays have never looked better is the verdict from the retailers who took part in Shop Project 2006.

Ten leading manufacturers gave two retailers the benefit of their category management expertise in this year’s project, the results of which are published in a supplement free with this issue.

Gross profit rose 25% at Rajah Ajitkumar’s Ashurst Wood Village Store, near East Grinstead, West Sussex, after the makeover, while Stuart Adam saw fresh fruit and veg sales soar 42% at his Key Store in Blandford Forum, Devon.

Suppliers participating this year were Bel UK, Nestlé Rowntree, Burton’s Foods, Bernard Matthews, Redbridge, Pfizer, Britvic, Warburtons, Camelot and YP Electronics.
