vapes

Retailers have just four months left to sell through any remaining stock and prepare for the disposable vape ban, which is coming into force on 1 June.

After the ban comes into place, all vaping products available for sale legally in the UK must be refillable and rechargeable, meaning they must be intended for multiple uses.

To help prepare, the Association of Convenience Stores (ACS) has created a guide, backed by Buckinghamshire and Surrey Trading Standards, which explains in detail how to source and sell vapes responsibly. This follows the official advice offered by Defra two weeks ago.

Key areas covered include how to prepare, details on enforcement and record keeping, how to communicate with customers, recognise illegitimate products and info on underage sales and recycling.

If you have remaining stock of disposable vapes, these must be stored away from the shopfloor and separated from other goods, clearly labelled as not for sale.

The ACS has also produced a poster for retailers to display in stores, communicating the ban to customers, which is also available at the above link.
