High-street champion Mary Portas will be returning to the Pro-retail show for a second year.

The government advisor will share her secrets of small business success at a series of presentations over the two-day exhibition, organised by wholesaler Palmer and Harvey (P&H), which kicks off on Tuesday, April 24.

The show will also feature a Futurezone, where innovations in convenience retail will be displayed. Exhibitors will include Intel’s Facial Recognition Unit, which targets ads to the viewer’s gender, age and other metrics, and i-movo’s digital voucher system.

Speaking ahead of the event, which is now in its 30th year, P&H sales and commercial director Martyn Ward said: “Pro-retail brings together the entire independent retail convenience industry under one roof, and it is important we make sure retailers leave the show armed with everything they need to future proof their business.”

Pro-retail will be held at the International Centre, Telford, Shropshire. More than 220 suppliers are expected to attend over the two days.
