Scottish snack brand Shore is celebrating the growth of its distribution across the UK for its plant-based lines.
Founded in 2020 and headquartered in Alness, Shore transforms hand-harvested seaweed into its range of 100% plant-based Seaweed Chips.
Its “low-impact harvesting model” supports one of the world’s natural food sources, it said, while creating employment and helping support livelihoods in rural and coastal communities.
The brand’s Seaweed Chips range is now available in hundreds of independent retailers and has most recently secured a listing with wholesaler Brakes.
Shore also recently achieved B Corp certification as part of its parent company, Aquascot, recognising the company’s commitment to “using business as a force for good,” it said.
Low-impact
Shore’s growth comes as consumers increasingly look for snacks that “deliver on taste, nutrition with limited impact on the planet,” and seaweed offers a compelling combination, the brand said.
Keith Paterson, founder and business unit head of Shore, said: “Our mission is to make seaweed a leading food of the future. By putting great taste at the heart of what we do, alongside responsible sourcing, Shore is showing that flavour and positive impact can go hand in hand.”
