Co-op has reported a surge in demand for alcoholic RTDs in the past 12 weeks.

Co-op is turning up the taste of summer with the launch of two new stylish ready to drink (RTD) cans - Hugo Spritz and Aperitivo Spritz.

Available now, the new up spritz cans are priced at £2 and described as “perfect for picnics, festivals and relaxed gatherings, whilst bringing bar-quality cocktails into a convenient, on-the-go format.”

Crafted to deliver light, lively flavour profiles, both spritz variants are designed to meet growing shopper appetite for premium, low effort drinking options, Co-op advised.

Hugo Spritz offers a crisp and floral blend, combining elderflower and mint notes, while Aperitivo Spritz delivers a vibrant mix of grapefruit and herbal flavours. Both cans are finished with a mix of vodka. Both drinks come in 250ml cans with a 5% abv.

In the last 12 weeks alone, Co-op said it had seen a real demand for RTD options, with sales showing it’s double-digit outperforming the rest of the market.

Andrew Birdsey, senior buying manager at Co-op, said: “We’ve seen a real surge in demand for RTD options, particularly those that offer a premium feel without the need for preparation.

“Spritz serves have become a staple of summer socialising, and we’re excited to bring both Hugo and Aperitivo Spritz cans to our shelves, giving our members and customers an easy way to enjoy these popular drinks whatever the occasion.”
