Christmas lunch is back on the menu, as the Co-op’s much-loved festive sandwich range is set to return to its stores nationwide later this month.
This year, Co-op is introducing two new food to go sarnies to the range, as well as bringing back some of its fan favourites.
Returning to shelves are the Turkey Feast, Boxing Day Feast, Pigs Under Blankets and Brie & Cranberry lines, each packed with “the classic festive flavours shoppers know and love,” Co-op said.
As part of the retailer’s commitment to backing British farming, all its own brand meat is 100% British, including fresh turkey in its core sandwich range.
Premium additions
Shoppers looking to try something new will also find two premium additions, which are landing slightly later on, from 2 December.
The new Christmas Club Sandwich will bring together some of the season’s most-loved festive flavours, while the Posh Prawn Cocktail Sandwich sees king prawns and a zesty Marie Rose sauce mirroring the nation’s much-loved seasonal starter.
The range is also to be made available as part of Co-op’s lunchtime meal deals, priced at £3.85 for members and £4.25 for non-members, while premium options are to be included in the premium meal deal (£5.50 for members and £6 for non-members).
Helen Jagger, product development manager for food to go at Co-op, said: “For many shoppers, the arrival of Christmas sandwiches is the moment the festive season really begins.
“We know our customers look forward to picking up their favourites every year, which is why we’re bringing back our most-loved classics. For those keen to try something new, we’ll also introduce two exciting premium additions we’re sure will be a hit when they land in December.”
Barnardo’s donation
Proceeds from Co-op’s core Christmas sandwiches will be donated to Barnardo’s as part of its national partnership - which has already raised more than £7m and supported positive futures for a million young people across the UK.
Over the past decade, the Christmas range alone has raised more than £500k for Co-op’s national charity partners.
