Butterkist is branching out into savoury popcorn with three new flavours.
The savoury range is made using wholegrain corn and comprises: sour cream & chive, sea salt & balsamic vinegar and barbecue variants. A 25g (rrp £59p) pack is designed for on-the-go occasions and lunchboxes and contain just 130 calories, while the larger 80g (rrp £1.49) packs are for sharing during social occasions.
Although toffee and sweet popcorn flavours make up the majority of sales, savoury flavours now account for 30% of the market and are one of the fastest growing variants, adding more than £2.3m to the market.
