Bepps, the UK’s first range of black eyed pea puffs, is launching into the convenience and wholesale channel.

The range is available in 22g handypacks (rrp 99p) and 70g sharing bags (rrp £1.79) in three flavours: Cheese, Sea Salt & Black Pepper and Sweet Chilli.

The puffs are made with black eyed peas, a natural ingredient rich in vitamin A and calcium. Sourced directly from local farmers in South America and West Africa, each pea is milled into flour before being made into the puffed snack.

Offering consumers a healthier alternative to traditional crisps and snacks, the Bepps range is gluten-free, suitable for vegans and a good source of protein and fibre. Each small pack contains 91 calories and is made without the use of GMO or MSG.

Eve Yankah, founder of Bepps, said: “I created Bepps to meet the growing demand for healthier snack alternatives that not only taste delicious but also deliver nutritional benefits.”

Bepps will be available to conveneince retailers from the end of August.

Bepps has listings in the following wholesalers: Marigold, Epicurium, JD’s Foods and Wholefoods Ireland.
