
A Scottish Nisa Local store has been destroyed by fire.
Scottish Fire and Rescue Service were alerted to the fire at Nisa Local Wee Mill in Rutherglen at 6.19pm on Thursday, 7 May. A spokesperson said: “At its height, Operations Control mobilised 22 fire appliances and additional resources to the scene of a fire affecting the basement of a commercial property within a four storey tenement building.”
The store’s owner, Saj Javed, posted on social media that nobody was hurt by the fire but that the site was destroyed.
“We are absolutely devastated to lose one of our award winning Stores, Nisa Local Wee Mill, which caught fire yesterday evening.
“Thankfully no staff, or customers were injured and everyone from the building above were evacuated safely. We would like to thank everyone for there support including, emergency services, local customers and our great team of staff at the store!”
