Mars Mini Market on Clemens Street, Leamington Spa, was this week closed by Warwick District Council’s Community Safety Team following community reports of illegal activity there, including the sale of illegal vapes and tobacco, anti-social behaviour and the potential exploitation of children.
The order to close was granted on 30 May, and the team says it wishes to thanks the general public who provided ‘vital intelligence’ which lead to the decision.
It is hoped the decision might help in alerting the public to the Safeguarding team’s ability to take actions such as this, and it welcomes information from anyone with suspicions of stores acting illegally in the area, it says.
