Single-use vapes are to be banned in Jersey from 1 August, however, retailers will have six months to deplete stock.

Jersey’s government said the ban on single-use vapes is being introduced to tackle their “damaging impact on the environment” and to “reduce the uptake of vaping by children”.

The Minister for Infrastructure Andy Jehan signed a commencement order making it illegal to import or supply single-use vapes in Jersey from Friday 1 August 2025.

Retailers have until 1 February 2026 to sell existing stocks of single-use vapes. This only applies to single-use vapes that were imported before the law came into force and retailers may be asked to provide evidence of this, said the government.

If individuals purchased single-use vapes before the ban, they are still permitted to use them, it added.

Illegal imports of single-use vapes after the ban would be seized and offenders could face a fine of up to £1,000.

The UK banned the sale and supply of single-use vapes from 1 June 2025 with no selling through period.
