The National Lottery operator Camelot is holding a one-off draw on Saturday 27 August to celebrate Team GB’s success in the 2016 Rio Olympics.

On top of the chance to win the Lotto jackpot, the special Lotto Medal Draw will pay out additional prizes for every medal won at the Rio 2016 Olympic Games.

Lotto players will be entered into the additional Medal Draw automatically, at no extra cost, with each £2 ticket carrying a raffle number for the Medal Draw.

An additional £1m prize will be created for every Gold medal that Team GB win, a £100,000 prize will be paid out for every Silver medal won; and a £50,000 prize for every Bronze medal.

UK Sport’s recent medal predictions suggest that Team GB will bring home at least 48 medals from Rio this summer.

The Lotto jackpot, Millionaire Raffle and all other prize tiers will still be selected and paid out as usual.

Running alongside this special draw for players is an extra chance for independent retailers to win up to £5,000 for their store or a chosen charity.

There will be one winner, and cash will be added to the pot for every Gold, Silver and Bronze medal won by Team GB.

The competition runs from 5-21 August. Eligible retailers will soon receive full details on the competition and how to enter.

The National Lottery also has other special events planned to celebrate the Paralympics with details to be announced in September.
