The Davies family, Trudy, Ian, Matthew and Sarah proudly presented the kit to Rob Hughes of Llanidloes Football club and first team manager Chris Davies.

Community-minded Trudy Davies of Woosnam & Davies News in Llanidloes, in mid Wales, has bought the small town a 24/7 publicly accessible bleed control kit and cabinet, the first of its kind in the country.

Trudy said: “It’s one of them items that you gladly donate to your community in the hope that it could be a lifesaver but in the hope that it will actually never be used.”

The control kit is sited at the Llanidloes football field in Victoria Avenue next to their defibrillator and is accessible to any member of the public.

Lynne Baird MBE, who launched the Daniel Baird Foundation after tragically losing her son to knife crime, has led a national campaign to install bleed control kits in public places. She congratulated Trudy on leading the way, tweeting: “So proud of @trudydavies1964 who has installed the first 24 hour Emergency Bleed Control Cabinet in #Llanidloes, Wales! Well done Trudy!”

Woosnam & Davies would like to thank Waxworkmedia, Antony Jones, Turtle Engineering in Kelsby and Talking Retail.com for the help and support received in bringing this project to fruition.

The store has also purchased a second kit and cabinet which will be hopefully sited at the Cricket Club in the near future.
