The Jet forecourt network has welcomed Vijay Jaganathan’s VST Group to its portfolio, with the tenth site in the retailer’s company now open in Grimsby and featuring a newly revamped Londis store.
Porters Garage signed up to Jet after a recommendation to Vijay. The move marks the start of a new relationship “built on the trust that comes with a personal recommendation,” Jet said.
The forecourt and store, located on Barnoldby Road, reopened to the public on 22 May. Vijay acquired the previously closed site and invested in bringing it back into operation - including refitting the Londis convenience store there.
It now offers a wide range of groceries, vegetables and household products, along with a Costa Coffee machine, Rollover hot dogs, pizza, Country Choice products and a PayPoint ATM.
Vijay said: “Jet came recommended to us at the right time, and that counted for a lot. Confidence in the relationship and the support on offer helped shape the decision to bring Porters Garage into the Jet network.”
Looking ahead, Vijay said he is planning a larger-scale redevelopment in around 18 to 24 months, underlining a long-term commitment to the site and to strengthening its offering the local community.
