The Wholesale Group (TWG) has expanded its growing own brand portfolio, with the launch of Core Spring Water in Tetra Paks.
Available through TWG’s independent wholesale members, Core Spring Water will be offered in 330ml and 500ml cartons, packed 24 per case, giving retailers an “eye-catching, grab-and-go hydration option with strong environmental credentials,” it said.
The launch also marks another milestone for TWG, with Core Spring Water becoming the first product in its own brand portfolio to carry the B Corp logo, following the Group’s recent B Corp Certification.
Innovative water
Sourced from Ireland, the water combines high-quality spring water with innovative Tetra Paks that are recyclable and 88% plant-based, helping retailers meet increasing consumer demand for more sustainable packaging choices.
The cartons also feature a plant-based cap and neck made using polymer that’s derived from sugar cane, and a tied cap to help keep components together during use and recycling.
It also offers retailers a practical advantage ahead of the UK’s Deposit Return Scheme (DRS). As cartons are exempt from the scheme, there’s no deposit to pay and no requirement for consumers to return the packaging to collection points, allowing it to be recycled through normal recycling channels.
Direct response
Tom Gittins, MD for retail at TWG, said: “Core Spring Water has been developed directly in response to member feedback and a growing demand for a more sustainable alternative to conventional plastic bottled water.
“As our first own brand water launch, it represents an important milestone for the range and demonstrates our commitment to delivering commercially relevant products that help our members respond to changing customer needs.
“Advance sales have been extremely strong, giving us confidence that there’s a genuine demand for this type of solution, and we look forward to seeing the range continue to grow.”
