Pernod Ricard is extending its Malibu cans range to include a mango variant.

The 250ml cans (rrp £1.99) will be available to the independent channel through wholesalers from October.

The mango variant has been created in response to research in which mango was identified as a flavour associated with sunshine and tropical countries, and that consumers are demanding to see more tropical flavour options from Malibu.

Pernod Ricard hopes this new flavour will add to the £8.2m total value sales created to date by cans. The brand has 
seen strong sales for the format, experiencing 62% growth compared with 2013.
