Mangrove has been appointed as UK distributor for premium French organic vodka Le Philtre.

Made from recycled waste glass, each distinctive 70cl bottle (rrp: £39) is available in either green or blue, depending on the type of reclaimed glass used in production. The use of reclaimed materials means every bottle carries subtle variations in colour, while containing the same exceptional liquid. Designed to be tactile and collectable, the bottles are intended for reuse as vases or decorative pieces, extending their lifecycle well beyond the last drop being poured.

Produced in Cognac, Le Philtre uses organic winter wheat and naturally filtered Gensac spring water. Distilled six times in total, the first four distillations take place in a traditional column still, followed by two final distillations, during which a few drops of oakwood distillate are added. The liquid is then rested for 15 days, resulting in an exceptionally pure vodka with a silky texture and refined mouthfeel. Unusually, it is made without filtration, meaning it preserves its unique character and depth.

Managing director of Mangrove Global Nick Gillett, commented: “Le Philtre has already aligned itself with iconic outlets and partners in Europe, like Galerie Lafayette, luxury hotel Le Ritz and La Grande Epicerie de Paris (part of Le Bon Marché). It is also listed in the 1st class of Air France, earning its position as a stylish, and luxurious spirit for the discerning drinker.

“It offers UK consumers an elevated tipple and sophisticated drinking experience, at a manageable price point. The bottle looks equally distinctive in a back bar or spirits shelf, making it a real standout spirit.”

Brand director of Le Philtre vodka, Camille Sebbag-Barjon, added: “Mangrove’s reputation of working with quality spirits aligns perfectly with Le Philtre’s core positioning – an exquisite liquid, with all the style and substance of the French ‘good life’.

“With an equal focus on sustainability without sacrifice, we look forward to working with the Mangrove team and building on all that we’ve achieved with Le Philtre in Europe.”
