Scoot, Booker’s rapid grocery delivery platform, is celebrating its first anniversary with a major milestone - 300 symbol group retailers now live on the service across the UK.
Since launching in February last year, Scoot has expanded through Booker’s symbol groups of Premier, Londis, Budgens and Family Shopper, helping independent retailers offer fast grocery deliveries to customers in their local communities.
Scoot provides a “simple, low-cost solution that allows retailers to enter the delivery space with minimal operational complexity, supported by a dedicated launch package and ongoing marketing activity,” it said.
The app connects shoppers with their local participating independent retailer, enabling them to order groceries and household essentials. The platform manages ordering, payment and picking processes, while retailers remain fully in control of their product range, pricing and delivery model - whether fulfilled in-house or through trusted third-party courier partners like Just Eat.
Damian Sanderson, Booker’s head of home delivery, said: “Reaching 300 store launches in Scoot’s first year is an incredible achievement and a testament to the ambition of our retailers and the strength of the platform. We’re incredibly proud of the progress made in the last 12 months and excited to continue supporting even more retailers as the platform grows.”
Retailers across the UK have already seen the benefits of joining Scoot. Billy Gatt, of Premier Whitehills, said: “Partnering with Scoot has been a game-changer for us. The app has allowed us to reach more customers than ever before, helping us grow our business while delivering a reliable and convenient service.”
Owain Hughes of Budgens Damory, added: “Scoot brings us customers that don’t use the shop, which is great for business. They find us through social media, and otherwise never would have shopped with us. It really helps to grow the business.”
