Morrisons has confirmed that its group wholesale and convenience director Matt Heslop has left his role.
Prior to Morrisons, Heslop was at Lidl for more than 20 years including a stint as COO of Lidl UK for eight years. He had been set to move to Asda Express in June 2024 before moving to Morrisons as group wholesale and convenience director in March 2025.
Heslop’s decision to leave the business is not expected to change its convenience strategy.
Commenting on Heslop’s departure, a Morrisons spokesperson said: “After much careful consideration, Matt Heslop has made the decision to leave the business.
“We want to thank Matt for everything he has done to improve and expand our convenience business. He has been key in driving forward our offering for customers and we thank him for all his contributions.
“We wish Matt every success in the future, he will continue to be a friend of Morrisons.”
