Scottish c-store retailer David’s Kitchen has opened a third site, in Kirkcaldy, with its customary focus on food service and an in-store coffee shop.

The 3,200sq ft site is split between approximately two-thirds grocery store and one-third coffee shop, complete with a spacious seating area.

The on-site kitchen produces all the food-to-go offer, including ready meals, delicatessen-style hot and cold filled rolls, wraps and sandwiches.

Managing director Keith Fernie said the grocery option had been “trimmed back” in line with industry trends, while food to go and alcohol were the core focus.

The store, which launched on Monday 4 November, is open from 6am until 10pm every day and includes an on licence.

Fernie said customer reaction and footfall had been extremely positive in the first week of trading.

Founded by David Sands, David’s Kitchen operates two other stores, in Falkirk and Glenrothes. Fernie said there were “definitely” plans for more stores.
