The Dallam store is the first to showcase Nisa’s new look and offering, announced today.

Co‑op Wholesale has unveiled a “major new chapter” for Nisa, which it describes as “a fully modernised symbol group proposition that resets and elevates the Nisa experience for independent retailers.”

The reset of the Nisa symbol group, available to retailers who adopt the new terms and conditions, removes the complexity and costs that have historically held retailers back, Co-op Wholesale said.

The introduction of a suite of tools will also equip retailers to accelerate growth, protect margins and “win in an increasingly tough market.”

The new Nisa offer for retailers adopting the new group proposition and terms includes the removal of standard membership fees, delivery charges and surcharges - however, as reported by Convenience Store’s sister title, The Grocer, this is in exchange for retailers sourcing 75% of stock from the wholesaler.

There will also be enhanced commercial benefits with rebate opportunities of up to 6% and a fresh, modern fascia identity that elevates Nisa’s presence on the high street.

“This is a landmark moment for Nisa and our independent partners as we launch a fully modernised symbol group proposition…”

Katie Secretan, managing director at Co‑op Wholesale, said: “This is a landmark moment for Nisa and our independent partners as we launch a fully modernised symbol group proposition that removes friction, takes away unnecessary charges and gives retailers more of what they need to thrive.”

The first store featuring the new modernised fascia and full proposition went live today (13 December) at Nisa Dallam in Warrington, Cheshire, which has been shortlisted in the upcoming Convenience Awards for Community Retailer of the Year.

Mike Sohal, Nisa retailer and store owner at the Warrington store, said: “This all came at the perfect time for us. But it’s not just about the fascia, it’s about doing business as simply as we can, and that’s the key benefit of what Co-op Wholesale has done for its independent retailers.

“This is alongside the space we’ve made available to introduce stronger ranges within the key missions for us, such as bakery lines, chilled and frozen and I’m really hopeful we’ll see it positively impact sales.”

Nisa’s charity, Making a Difference Locally (MADL), also sees a refresh with a bolder identity, strengthening its visibility and continuing its mission to support local causes.
