PayPoint’s new awards will celebrate the vital role retailers play in their communities.

Payment provider PayPoint has announced the launch of a new Community Champion Awards Programme, recognising the vital role retailers play in supporting their local communities and delivering essential services across the UK.

The initiative aims to recognise retailers who go above and beyond. The programme will feature four awards, one of which will be announced each quarter based on analytics and performance.

The categories are confirmed as:

  • The PayPoint All‑Rounder
  • Parcels Retailer of the Year
  • PayPoint/BankLocal Retailer of the Year
  • Most Improved Retailer of the Year

The first award will be announced in July 2026 and a retailer will select a local community initiative or club to receive a donation of £3,500 Community Project Sponsorship Fund. They will also receive free PayPoint service fees for 12 months and professional PR activity support, including local media engagement, social assets, in‑store POS and a photoshoot opportunity.

Jo Toolan, MD for network and client services, said: “Our retailers sit at the heart of their communities, and through the Community Champion Programme we want to recognise those who consistently go above and beyond, supporting local people day in, day out and making a real difference locally.

“From everyday cash services to convenient parcel drop-off and collection, these stores play an increasingly important role in neighbourhoods, helping communities access essentials close to home. This programme is our way of saying thank you, shining a spotlight on outstanding retailers and supporting the community initiatives that matter most to them.”
