Free consultations with industry gurus are a central part of this year's big convenience event

This year's National Convenience Show (NCS) will bring together a group of high-flying industry experts to offer individually tailored advice on your retail business, and it's completely free of charge.

Retailers attending the show, which runs at Birmingham's NEC from February 27March 1, will be able to request and book in advance free 20-minute consultations with the experts of their choice.

Once you have registered as an NCS attendee you will be able to go to the NCS website, view the list of consultants/specialists available, and book your slot directly with the expert at a time to suit you.

The expert team of advisors will be selected to cover all aspects of convenience retailing from a range of organisations, including NCS partner businesses, consultancies and professional associations. The full list of experts will be available online from February 1, but the line-up will definitely include independent retailer and licensing guru Chris Mitchener of Licensing Solutions. Chris told C-Store that he was looking forward to helping retailers negotiate the minefield surrounding alcohol licensing.

"I will be there to help retailers talk about any specific licensing issues they may have," he says. "Those issues are constantly changing so it can be extremely difficult for retailers to keep up to speed with everything that they need to know. That's why I will be there to help them with personalised in-depth sessions to answer any queries and anxieties they have around specific issues."
