Businesses previously shut out of the high-quality security monitoring market because of price can now snap up a system at a fraction of the cost.
Action Against Business Crime (AABC), the joint venture between the Home Office and the British Retail Consortium, is offering retailers high-quality crime prevention systems for just £35 a month. The standard system hardware, installation and SSAIB certificate of conformity are free.
AABC chief executive Mike Schuck said the initiative provided "the missing link between more expensive police response systems and affordable security for businesses large and small".
The system includes features to help people who work on their own feel less vulnerable by enabling keyholders to contact the relevant authorities within moments of activation. Smoke and flood detection upgrades are also included.
"This is great news for small businesses," Schuck added.
