Martin McColl is continuing its recent expansion in Scotland with the purchase of three stores from Good 2 Go (Scotland) Ltd. The stores in Castletown, Thurso and Helmsdale will trade under the McColl's fascia and join the six former Somerfield Essentials outlets acquired last month.
General manager marketing Paul Taylor said: "These latest acquisitions will show that we mean business and have the funds in place to grow our store numbers."
John Murray, owner of the Good 2 Go Group, said he had sold the stores as part of a desire to return his business to a smaller scale and to resume the role of a hands-on retailer.
