Spar Luxury Mince Pies have scored higher than competition from the supermarkets and premium retailers in the Good Housekeeping Institute’s Christmas review.
The £2 product was given 10 more points than Harrods’ own mince pies, which come with an rrp of £8.95.
The judges said Spar’s Luxury Mince Pies include “richly spiced mincemeat” which is “moist and juicy”.
They added: “It generously fills the buttery, crisp casing. A moreish Christmassy pie.”
Spar’s Luxury Soft White Tissue was recognised in March for its great quality and design.
Cath McIlwham, Spar UK head of Spar brand, said: “We are delighted to have been endorsed once again by the well-respected Good Housekeeping Institute.
“The institute independently assesses hundreds of products for their Christmas taste test, and we are really proud that our Spar Luxury Mince Pies made the grade.
“As Christmas approaches, we can offer our customers great-tasting quality products that our retailers can be really confident in.”
The endorsement will also be highlighted via POS materials in stores and social media activity.
