Entries are now open for the Sales Assistant of the Year Awards, which are promising to be bigger and better than ever, with a new and exciting format for 2019.

Any store workers, from junior to supervisor level can enter the awards scheme, and candidates who impress the awards judges will be contacted to arrange a store visit from one of the judging panel.

In an exciting new change for 2019, the four leading finalists will then be selected and invited to attend the prestigious Convenience Retail Awards in March 2019, where the winner will be revealed, along with the 2019 Community Hero.

Cash awards are included in the prize package. Each of the four finalists will receive £150, with the overall winner of Sales Assistant of the Year receiving an additional £500 and the Community Hero an additional £350. The store manager nominating the overall winner will also receive £150.

Last year’s winner, Kirsty Rhodes from Spar St Dials, in Cwmbran, South Wales, is certainly glad she was nominated by her store manager.

The community- and commercially-minded store supervisor wowed the judges with her in-depth business knowledge and genuine passion for building profit, which was matched by an extensive list of charity work including support for local food banks and numerous heart-warming examples of excellent customer service.

Her all-round excellence not only secured her the prestigious title of Sales Assistant of the Year, but also a big cash prize and money-can’t-buy national and local press coverage for herself and the store.

So, if you’d like to reward one of your sales assistants in a similar way, all you have to do is head to the dedicated awards website, www.salesassistantawards.co.uk and fill in a simple online entry form.

The closing date for entries is Monday 12 November, so don’t delay!
