Strathmore Water has announced that Laura Muir, one of the UK’s top young athletes, will join the brand’s team of ambassadors, ahead of the IAAF World Indoor Championships in Birmingham later this year.

The AG Barr brand is continuing to strengthen its commitment to world-class sports people, with fellow athletes Samantha Kinghorn and Ross Murdoch having already signed up with Strathmore Water.

The Team Strathmore athletes will help promote the benefits of hydration and encourage more people to lead healthy and active lifestyles through the brand’s Do More campaign.

The initiative is designed to inspire more people of all ages and abilities to take part in entry level exercise such as running, swimming and cycling - providing athlete advice and inspiration as well as tips and techniques

On signing up to Team Strathmore for the next 12 months, Laura said: “I am really pleased to be teaming up with Strathmore Water and their existing sports ambassadors to help encourage more people to enjoy the benefits of running.

“Our aim is to get more people on the move – to just try to be more active and see what benefits it can bring to your life. A water brand is such a natural partner for me as hydration is so important for athletes – I am really looking forward to getting involved in the Do More campaign.”

Adrian Troy, marketing director for AG Barr added: “Strathmore water has a proud record for supporting top class athletics and we’re really pleased at the prospect of this new partnership with one of the country’s leading athletes.

“2018 is set to be an exciting year for Strathmore and our continued association with world class athletics and we look forward to working together with Laura, Sammi and Ross to help more people to foster healthy habits and stay hydrated while doing more.”
