Lactalis McLelland’s Italian cheese brand Galbani is giving its packaging a winter makeover to capitalise on festive sales.

The new packaging is rolling out to the convenience channel this month. The special packs, which feature a sprinkling of snowflakes against a background of snowy scenes, are designed to help retailers drive impulse sales by inspiring shoppers to pick up a pack and cook up a cheese-based recipe at home.

The seasonal design will appear across six of the Italian cheese brand’s products – Mozzarella (125g), Mozzarella Cucina (400g), Mascarpone (250g & 500g), Ricotta (250g), and Gorgonzola Cremoso (150g).

Mike Chatters, sales director for Lactalis McLelland, said: “The new packaging is intended to create excitement for the Galbanirange and drive impulse purchases for retailers during a key seasonal sales period, when we know cheese products are a popular choice for consumers.”

The new packaging follows a significant investment earlier this year by Lactalis McLelland, which saw Galbani supported with a £1 million media campaign.
