A Spar c-store in Macclesfield, Cheshire, has been sold after store owner Piyush Parekm decided to relocate to Australia.

Piyush said the decision to sell the 1,300 sq ft. site on Chesire Road, the main route connecting Macclesfield to Knutsford and the Peak District, wasn’t planned.

He said: “Though we had only acquired the business a short time ago, we were presented with the opportunity to emigrate to Australia, where we have family. The opportunity was simply too good to pass up.”

The leasehold for the Spar store was sold at a guide price of £100,000 to new owner and first-time convenience store operator Priyanka Mohanan.

Priyanka, who has experience operating a number of successful fast food franchises, has decided to relocate from Merseyside in order to run the business.

She said: “We were looking for an opportunity to acquire a convenience store for a little while, and this site ticked all our boxes.”

Ashley Cobban, business agent at Christie & Co, the company who sold the site, added: “This is a great opportunity for Mrs Priyanka and we wish her all the best for the future. The high levels of interest generated by this business and the speed of the sale are testament to the demand for high quality retail businesses in the area.”
