Co-op

Co-op has announced a series of changes to its leadership team.

Unveiled as part of the next phase of its “growth ambition”, managing director for growth, Jerome Saint-Marc, is to leave to “pursue further opportunities outside of Co-op”. During his time at Co-op, his remit was extended to include business-to-business (B2B) for Co-op Wholesale and Franchise.

As a result of Saint-Marc’s departure, managing director for Co-op Wholesale Katie Secretan, will now report directly into CEO Shirine Khoury-Haq and will join the operating board.

Current Co-op Food managing director, Matt Hood, will take up the role of chief commercial and logistics officer, as part of a new division tasked with servicing all Co-op stores, franchise, independent societies and Nisa, and creating a significant grocery buying group.

Hood will start the new role with immediate effect, and a search is now underway to recruit a new MD for the food retail business. In the Interim period the remaining food leadership team will report directly into Khoury-Haq.

Other changes within the leadership team include the appointment of Wais Shaifta as new chief growth officer with responsibility for Co-op Group Strategy and the delivery of future growth agenda.
