Spar wholesaler James Hall & Co is to extend its support for members with a £400,000 investment in leaflets, distribution and POS imagery for stores which accept agreed product allocations.
The initiative has seen stores which take regular leaflets improve their promotions and increase sales.
The company also plans to extend its 'One Week Only' promotions in the coming year.
Retail director Peter Dodding said: "With customers feeling the impact of the economic downturn we really need to make these grocery deals work for us. Each 'One Week Only' deal will be supported by shelf and stack posters plus extra large posters that capture sales as customers cater for their basic shopping needs."
Dodding also said that the Spar Rewards incentive scheme, which was launched last year and has been adopted by 360 stores, had already resulted in bonus payments of up to £10,000 per store.
The last 12 months have seen 55 stores join Spar's Northern Guild, which is serviced by Halls.
