Independent retailers are being encouraged to take part in National Cuppa Day, a new event planned by My Shop is Your Shop (MSYS) organisers. It will form part of this year's National Independents' Week, starting on Monday, June 3.
On the day, retailers will invite customers to stop by for a 'cuppa and a chat'. Tetley is sponsoring the day and offering six packs of 80 tea bags for the price of five through cash and carry depots and delivered wholesalers.
MSYS chairman Alan Toft said: "The idea came from retailers who told us they offer customers a cup of tea during the middle of the day when there is an opportunity for a chat. It sums up the friendly localness which independents offer."
