Closing up shop is never done lightly. And liquidating inventory can be tricky.
Regular correspondent Rohitkumar (Roy) Gudka wrote from Charlton in South London: “Decided to call it a day with my business as it’s not getting any better.”
He adds: “It’s not easy closing a business as there are lots of things to sort out like utilities, suppliers and the banks.”
He has already put signs up to tell customers that he is closing for good on August 13, and he has put a book out to collect comments (nice touch). He asked me if I had any ideas about getting rid of any leftover stock.
I found him a couple of companies in the clearance business. One said that rates would depend on the scale of stock and the geography. Another - Self Trading - offers complete store clearance from corner shops to supermarkets. All you have to do is make a list: do the inventory, take images and email it to them. They will make you an offer.
Roy also has some metal shelving to sell and a drinks cooler, a card stand and an air conditioning unit. So if anyone is interested in any of these fixtures or stock, give him a call on 07956 868638.
And I’m sure you will all join me in wishing Roy the very best for the future.
