In the last issue I reported on the difficulties Gary Pilsworth had experienced in trying to get his Kerry Foods account switched from his buying group to direct payment. In the end the driver sorted it out for him.
Ian Garrett, sales director for convenience, Kerry Foods, sent us this statement: “In reference to the article in the last issue of Convenience Store relating to Gary Pilsworth, I feel it is important to add some clarity regarding the business structure of Kerry Foods.
“The Kerryfresh van sales business underwent a management buyout in 2015 from Kerry Foods ownership, and a new business Fresh to Store was created. To confirm, Kerry Foods hasn’t operated a van sales business in Great Britain since this took place. Fresh to Store remains a valued customer and stocks a range of Kerry Foods brands alongside products from a number of other manufacturers.
“We have been in touch with members of the customer service team and those at head office to ensure they are fully up to speed on the separation of the two businesses and know where to direct retailers in the future if any issues arise.”
Good to know.
