Spar wholesaler AF Blakemore is extending its local sourcing schemes to two more regions - Wales and East Anglia.
Following the success of its alliance with Heart of England Fine Foods (HEFF), Blakemore has signed a deal with Welsh and East Anglian food groups Blas-aw-fwyd and Taste of Anglia.
Rob Davies, regional sales manager at Blakemore, said: "Local products are suitable for all types of store, but they're going particularly well in affluent areas. We had highlighted 60 stores which are ideal for the Heart of England Fine Foods range, and we will look at getting 50% of our stores in Wales and East Anglia to take products from Blas-aw-fwyd and Taste of Anglia's ranges. We are in the process of signing up stores."
There are 15 Spar stores in central England with a dedicated HEFF fixture for locally sourced products, and another 20 lined up. The range comprises 200 products across 42 suppliers.
