Manchester-based beer and wine importer Morgenrot has created Feitizo Da Noite, a 100% sparkling Albarino from the Rias Baixas region in north-west Spain.

Meaning ‘Spell of the night’ in Galician, this powerful, floral and lively sparkling wine is made using the region’s increasingly popular Albarino grapes. With an abv of 12%, the sparkling comes in cases of four with a list price of £17.47 per 75cl bottle.

The sparkling is straw yellow in colour with aromas of candied white fruits, floral notes and a touch of light aging. It has a refreshing acidity with hints of ripe apples and candied citrus.

John Critchley, Morgenrot’s commercial director, said: “With the trend for sparkling Albarinos on the rise globally thanks to the hard work of the Rias Baixas winemakers and the consumer’s experimental tendencies, we’re delighted to launch this unique wine to the UK market in time for Christmas. The Bodega’s team treat the grapes with so much respect and that comes through in the final product so we’re confident operators and consumers alike will love the powerful yet balanced flavours of this refreshing wine.”

Established in 1970, Manchester-based Morgenrot supply a selection of wines, beers, ciders and spirits nationally including Palax, Krombacher, Quilmes, Tucumen, Tribaut, Loxarel, Supper Club and Vallemajor.
