A video of a store that opened in Chelmsford, Essex, last month has been viewed over 300,000 times after being dubbed the ‘UK’s coolest Co-op’ by TikToker Kristie Rolfe.
Rolfe made the TikTok while visiting the East of England Co-op store on her way to work, claiming that it reminded her of an American gas station.

The store, which is based near Chelsford train station, aims to attract its fair share of the area’s 12,300 commuters with a host of food to go features. The shop has a Barista Bar coffee machine, an enhanced in store bakery, fresh iSqueeze orange juice, Fwip ice cream, Shmoo milkshake, Tango Ice Blast and hot food snacks.
East of England Co-op’s move into Chelmsford follows its growth into Cambridgeshire last year.
