Ways to maximise the natural advantages of the local convenience sector will be under the spotlight at the 2013 ACS Summit in April.
Under the theme of ‘nobody does it better’, the Summit will hear from leading retailers and entrepreneurs from both inside and outside the industry on the strengths of small stores compared to large multiple operators and online retail channels.
Confirmed speakers include John Boulter of DHL, Olympic Gamesmaker Karen Jones and Dave Fishwick from Bank of Dave. In addition, award-winning independent retailer Paul Cheema will present video case studies of leading independents who are taking on and beating the multiples through high levels of innovation and service. Senior industry figures will also be on stage to explore specific topics through a series of panel discussions on the strategic direction of the industry, and on how change can be implemented through leadership and new ways of working.
ACS chief executive James Lowman said: “The Summit will deliver a strong blend of long term strategic thinking and specific, practical ideas that can be easily implemented in store.
“The mix of media and formats including videos, panel discussions and interactive sessions will help to make it a really enjoyable day for delegates, coupled with a unique networking opportunity to speak to and learn from 450 people who are directly relevant to your business all in the same place.”
The Summit is co-located with the National Convenience Show at Birmingham’s NEC. The show runs from April 14-16 with the Summit taking place on April 16. For more details, visit www.nationalconvenienceshow.co.uk
