Staff welcomed the local community back into the second revamped store in Totton today.

A Co-op in Totton, near Southampton, relaunched today (20 February) with a fresh new look following a three-week programme of works and improvements.

The store, located in Rumbridge Road, follows Co-op’s Salisbury Road store in the same town, which also benefited from a makeover and relaunched last year. The latest store supports 16 local jobs and opens between 7am-10pm daily.

Co-op has worked to ‘transform the shopping experience’ through investment in the community store which now includes Costa Coffee Express, hot food and bakery alongside an extensive range and choice of fresh and healthy products. Self service tills have also been added to enable the smaller of the two Totton stores to offer shoppers’ enhanced ease, speed and convenience, especially at busier times.

The online home delivery of groceries is available through Just Eat and Uber Eats, with orders picked fresh in the local store and delivered quickly and conveniently in the community.

Colin Hayward, Co-op area manager, said: “This is the second of our Totton stores to relaunch following investment, with a focus on offering quality products, value and choice that can be enjoyed by everyone. We’re here to contribute to local life and conveniently serve and support our community.”

Co-op’s Totton store is one of the 18 stores Co-op confirmed it would open in the first three months of 2026, either brand new stores or stores re-launching after investment.

Earlier this year, in a UK convenience retailer first, Co-op also launched its new own brand GLP-1 friendly meals, specially developed for shoppers with smaller appetites.
