Estate agents Christie & Co. have just announced the sale of the independently-run South View Stores in North Devon.
The freehold property’s appeal was boosted by an adjoining three-bedroom house, and is located in the village of Shebbear between Bideford and Okehampton in the county.
After seven offers and twelve viewings, the business has been sold to a first-time operator, highlighting “continued appetite from both experienced operators and those new to the sector,” agent Matthew McFarlane from Chistie’s said.
Outgoing owner, Keith Horwell, said: “It’s has been a pleasure working and operating the store for so many years. The local community have been great in supporting us and vice versa.
“I’d very much like to thank all out loyal customers and staff - some of whom have been great friends for their custom. Of course, all good things come to an end and we’ve now decided to take retirement.”
Incoming owner, Bharat Odedra, added: “We’re really pleased to have taken over South View Stores and very much look forward to continuing the hard work Keith and Anne have put in over the years, and hope to add and expand on the overall product offering to suit out customers’ needs.”
