Scottish convenience group David Sands stole a march on its larger competitors by claiming both the Best Overall Retailer and Best Community Retailer awards at the HIM awards last week.

HIM’s Convenience Tracking programme interviewed 25,000 convenience store customers to find out about their experience of shopping in the stores. 

Sands which also picked up the Best Lottery Retailer and Best Managed Retailer prizes at the London event. Chief operating officer Ewen Chisholm said: “Being recognised in this way by the people who matter most – our customers – reaffirms that we are exactly where we want it to be and that is right in the heart of the communities in which we operate.

“To win one CTP award is always a great achievement but to win four when we are up against such high-profile names in the industry is quite remarkable.”
