With Christmas just a few months away, Tangerine Confectionery has revealed a sleigh-full of festive lines. The Sweet Champions tub (750g, rrp £5) features an assortment of retro products, including Dip Dab, Refreshers, Sherbet Fountain, Wham, Mojo Chews, Black Jack Chews, Fruit Salad Chews, Frosties and the new Refresher Softies.

Tangerine is also set to launch a range of seasonal stocking fillers, comprising an assortment of tubes, including Wham Minis (105g, rrp £1), Fruit Salad Softies (100g, rrp £1), and Refresher Softies (103g, rrp £1). Also new to the range is the Jameson’s luxury chocolate gift carton (220g, rrp £2), which combines Raspberry Ruffles and Caramels, and capitalises on the success of the brand which, the firm claims, has grown at 7% year-on-year. Another new launch is the Sweet Champions Selection Box (170g, rrp £2), a first in the sugar confectionery market, which features six full sized retro treats.

Adrian Hipkiss, head of marketing at Tangerine Confectionery, said: “Our new products will resonate with fun-filled family occasions and celebrations and each SKU will offer the ideal opportunity for retailers to drive sales during what is by far the largest of seasonal occasions in terms of spend.

“Last year the total seasonal treats market was worth £827m, up 16% in value terms since 2010, but down 13% in volume, demonstrating how the market has been affected by increased average prices, indulgence and premiumisation.”
