British confectionery manufacturer Swizzels has updated the packaging of its Rainbow Drops. The colours are now more vibrant and packs carry a calorie flash highlighting their suitability for shoppers looking for portion control and a lower calorie treat option.

Rainbow Drops were first launched in the late 1940s and were sold loose by the scoop before the first bagging machine was introduced in 1952.

Swizzels NPD brand manager Emma Herring said: “The Rainbow Drops range is one of our traditional favourites that consumers know and love. The range of pack sizes mean Rainbow Drops are perfect for a little snack or to share with family and friends.”

Rainbow Drops are available in 10g bags - part of Swizzels ‘flashback to 10p’ range - 32g and 80g bags as well as multipacks. They are suitable for vegetarians and, as with all Swizzels products, they contain no artificial colours.

Swizzels is the UK’s largest family-owned independent sugar confectionery business. The company makes a range of well-known products including Squashies, Love Hearts, Refreshers, Drumstick Lollies, Rainbow Drops, Double Lollies and Fruity Pops.
